About The Network

The Peace Leadership Network (PLN) is a project of the African Council on Foreign Relations in partnership with the Dr Toby Institute for Global Impact. The Peace Leadership Network is a Pan-African movement of young leaders from diverse professional and educational backgrounds to promote peace

Collectively, these young people come from all parts of Africa and bring an excellent perspective on peace and development issues that affect the African continent.

ACFR Peace Leadership Network fellows are accomplished and rising thought leaders, advancing peaceful solutions that create economic opportunities for young people across the continent.

Our Goals

The Peace Leadership Network (PLN) has four goals:

  • Develop an international network of young leaders to promote peaceful solutions in Africa.
  • promote the critical role of dialogue in crisis resolution in Africa and worldwide.
  • Contribute to building a sustainable culture of peace in Africa.
  • Highlight the extraordinary work, strength, and courage of young leaders longing for a more stable future in Africa.

The Peace Leadership Network (PLN) is led by the African Council on Foreign Relations in partnership with the Dr Toby Institute for Global Impact.

The ACFR Peace Leadership Network (PLN) offers two main programs:

The Arts and Poetry for Peace in Africa Program

With Arts and Poetry for Peace in Africa, a program of the Peace Leadership Network, the African Council on Foreign Relations gives artists, poets, creators, YouTubers, filmmakers, podcasters, and innovators a great platform to use their talents and passions to promote peace, security, and economic development in Africa. Objectives:

  • Empower artists to find their voice and express their talents without any fear everywhere in the world.
  • Forge global alliances and partnerships that amplify and uplift African artists, and place arts as a force for good and development.
  • Provide a solid platform of collaboration, cooperation, exchange, and engagement among African artists interested in lending their voice and talent to promote dialogue and understanding in Africa and globally.
