The African Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) is a pan-African membership think-tank social enterprise that performs independent research, advocacy, studies, training, consultancy on social, international, political, foreign policy, business, and economic issues.

Our Code of Professional Conduct
The ACFR professional code of conduct is designed to ensure staff and members behave in a manner that is professionally acceptable and respectful of one another. The professional code of conduct establishes the rules for behavior and sends a message to every employee that universal compliance is expected. It also provides the groundwork for a preemptive warning if employees break the code. The ACFR code of conduct is a professional guide and a statement of the organization’s values and commitments.

We are an independent organization. We do not accept influence from governments, companies, and political organizations. Leaders, scholars, and members must not accept influence from an outside organization.

Our Approach to Thought Leadership
The African Council on Foreign Relations challenges leaders and scholars to develop cutting- edge thinking systems and leadership capabilities in developing climate in which people’s experiences are valued, highly respected, and seen forces for innovation, change, and transformation.
